Pinyon-Juniper Woodland

The open, fragrant "P-J" woodland of the high desert and east-side mountain slopes — widely spaced pinyon pines and junipers over a sagebrush understory. Common on the dry, desert-facing slopes around Big Bear and throughout the Eastern Sierra foothills.
