Eastern Sierra — US-395 corridor

The dramatic east side of the Sierra Nevada along the US-395 corridor from Lone Pine and Bishop up through Mammoth Lakes and the June Lake Loop. Glaciated granite, conifer forest climbing to treeline, aspen groves that blaze gold in October, and — out on the basin floor and dry foothills — a sweep of sagebrush, pinyon-juniper, and desert-edge flora. One of the richest California road corridors for plant diversity, packed into a short drive of elevation.
